1.I only used ACT’s officialpractice papers (free online，check prepscholar). I always made it a point tosit all four sections at once in a timed practice，because that’s the way theactual format works. With the 10 minute break between M/R. Nothing beatsconditioning yourself. I printed the bubble form too for practice tests. Evenif I messed up only Reading and aced the rest on a practice I’d still makemyself retake all four sections because that’s the way it’d be if my officialscore wasn’t up to scratch.

2.I always bubbled the answers atone shot only after completing the whole section. It saves time，trust me.

3. Also，underline the answer youmarked down on top of writing the letter in the question space. The mostfrustrating feeling in practice was mistakenly writing the wrong letter andbubbling that.
一定要标注清楚自己选择的答案，别想着一个结果选成另一个，也别涂卡涂错了。
4. Don't burn out. Just because you made a careless mistake doesn't mean you need to take another practiceimmediately to solve it. In fact，I set strict intervals of 2-3 days betweentaking a new practice ACT，so that there’d be time to recall bits of errorsmade over your past practices.
别做题做的太密集了。我一般每2-3天做一次套题练习，留下足够的时间回顾自己之前犯的错误。

1.READ THE QUESTIONS FIRST 做题先读题目
先读题目不仅更可以了解文章的大意，而且还能够帮助你了解接下来通读全篇的时候阅读重点有哪些。
This will give you some advance knowledge and help you find the important stuff in the passage. Reading all of the passage is very important，but knowing what to focus on is crucial to finding the right answers.
2.BECOME AN EXPERT 变成一个专家。
这其实是比较难的，因为ACT阅读四篇文章分别为不同的体裁： 自然科学，人文(历史和艺术)，社会科学和文学。
这里面可能只有一种或两种是你比较熟悉的。但无论怎样，请不要泄气。
尽管有一些是你不熟悉的，但并不代表你不可以攻克，多多找自己不熟悉的文章类型进行精读，突破自己的舒适区，不要给自己心理设限。
This is a difficult one because the passages cover four very different subjects: natural science，humanities (history and fine art)，social science，and literature. One or two could be unfamiliar to you. Nevertheless， press ahead，and do not be discouraged. Just because a passage is on the life cycle of the gecko does not mean that it is too obtuse to understand. You can understand it and it is on your level： do not be intimidated.
3.ALWAYS READ THE ENTIRE PASSAGE 请一定要记得读文章前面的介绍。
你可能会觉得这条建议和第一条先读题目相矛盾，其实不是的。文章介绍总是有一些文章线索供你使用。
You may think this contradicts my first point，but it does not.There are always context clues you can pick up in the passage. That means that while Neil Armstrong’s biography has little to do with the passage on space travel you may find a question that addresses that very thing.
4.ELIMINATE ONE OR TWO ANSWER CHOICES 排除一个或者两个选项
总是有那么一到两个选项是可以被排除的，所以把他们找出来。
There will always be answers to eliminate，so look for them. The answer choice that mentions Leonardo da Vinci following a question on the painting of the roof of the Sistine Chapel is not going to be right，no matter how well written. That said，before you eliminate any answer...
5.READ THE LINES IN THE PASSAGE MENTIONED IN THE QUESTION 认真阅读那些在问题中出现过的句子。
你永远不知道你的记忆可以帮到你多大的忙，好好地确定一下你读到的是不是问题问的。
You never know how well your memory will serve you，even if you read the passage mere minutes ago. You can never be sure of your answer until you know exactly what the question is referring to.
6.STAY SPECIFIC 找出表达明确的选项。
永远选择正确的答案，而不是你认为最智慧、最聪明的。不要把自己的感受强加到文章中。
Always choose the best answer choice, not the one you think sounds most intelligent. The question，“What is the author’s feeling on the future of space travel” will have a very specific answer. You must find textual evidence supporting the right answer. Never assume from context. Find the sentence in the passage that reads “I think space travel will be very common in the future.”
7.Know how the test is scored 了解ACT阅读是如何评分的。
错误的答案是不倒扣分的，所以确保你填写了所有的答案。
There is no wrong answer penalty，so make sure you answer every question，even if you cannot eliminate any answer choices or if your run out of time.
Have a pre-specified “Letter of the Day” like (A)/(F) or (B)/(G) to fill in automatically so you don’t use extra time deciding which answer choice you want.
8.Know the section structure 了解每部分的结构。

Section 3 is a 35-minute Reading section that starts immediately after a 10-minute break.
There are four ACT reading passages that have 10 questions each，which equals a total of 40 multiple-choice questions that each have four answer choices. There are four different passage types that are always in the same order：Prose Fiction，Social Studies，Humanities，and Natural Sciences. You can do the passages in any order，so start with your strongest passage type and work from there.
9.Follow the recommended ACT reading comprehension method 请遵守ACT 阅读的做题方法。

*关注文中不同人物的不同观点
10.Read the question and identify helpful hints. 读题目找出有帮助的暗示。

11.That being said，each passage(except Literature) has a clear argumentative structure. One paragraph alwayshas a focus. Condition yourself to summarize paragraphs as you skim them.
除了文学类文章外，其他文章都有清晰的结构，每个段落都有中心点，在扫读的时候可以自己尝试总结。
12.For the Literature passages，the trap is to conjecture. Only look at what can be reasonably inferred. Onceagain，extreme answers never make the cut.
文学类的文章很容易让你陷入过度揣测猜想的陷阱，应该只看可以进行合理推断的部分。同样，太绝对的选项一般都错。
