　　TASK 1

　　Three kinds of activities will be offered on a special day organized by the International Student office. Which one do you prefer?

　　1. International food fair;

　　2. International music festival;

　　3. International film festival.

　　Sample answer: My preference goes to the International film festival. To start off, watching films and movies is actually an alternative form of learning. There surely will be some carefully selected works in the international film festival and they are featuring different cultures. Students can have a glimpse of the historical and political setting of a certain country. For example, the award-winning film The King’s Speech exactly offers a quick look at the British monarchy. And Chinese film Hero also highlights Chinese passion for romanticized martial arts. Also, compared to the other two kinds of fairs, the film festival is supposed to be relatively quiet and nice, which I favor much more.

　　TASK 2

　　To communicate with others, do you prefer to send text messages or making calls?

　　Sample answer: Sending text messages will be my choice. To begin with, making calls is a more efficient way to reach out to people. In other words, you can make relatively more direct contact when you are trying to inform someone of some important news. Like last time, when I tried to ask my mom to pick up several parcels the deliveryman left at our shred hold, I sent her text message at first but she didn’t respond. Then I tried her phone. She responded immediately and just got the parcels back. Also, calls are better able to keep your bond with others strong. It is absolutely nicer and sweeter to hear the voice of your loved ones through phone calls.

　　TASK 3

　　阅读：标题：The university decides to cancel the time workshop.

　　原因1：学生对此兴趣不大。

　　原因2：学期开始的时候，学生都很忙没有时间参加。

　　听力：态度：不同意

　　原因一：女生觉得workshop很有用，很多学生其实对此是感兴趣的。

　　原因二：学期中、学期末学生也有很多其他事情要忙，不如一开始就去time arrangement workshop寻求帮助。

　　TASK 4

　　阅读：标题：Nest mate recognition

　　定义：很多种类的昆虫可以靠气味等信息辨别其他昆虫是不是来自同一巢穴，分清楚是敌是友。

　　听力：例子：一种在pine tree筑巢的蚂蚁，在觅食时，可以靠气温辨别其它的蚂蚁是不是也来自pine tree. 如果其它蚂蚁身上有pine tree的味道，那么说明来自同一个巢穴，可以分享食物，或者让另一只蚂蚁把食物搬回去;但是如果另一只蚂蚁身上有不熟悉的气味，说明它是其他巢穴的蚂蚁，就不会分享食物给它。

　　TASK 5

　　【听力】

　　问题：男生遇到问题，他的历史课需要两个同学合作完成group program. 但是他的partner因为course schedule太满，想要drop这节课。

　　解决方案1：教授建议他参加别的小组，和其他两个人组成三个人的小组。

　　优点1：/

　　缺点1：要换topic，必须要放弃原来的topic,但是原来的topic已经完成了一部分了。

　　解决方案2：一个人完成，自己上去做presentation.

　　优点2：可以继续做自己喜欢的topic。

　　缺点2：任务量更大了，只能自己一个人完成。

　　TASK 6

　　【听力】

　　话题：paperless office

　　要点1：无纸化办公室能节省很大的空间，不需要额外的空间来存放文件，因为文件可以存在电子设备里。

　　例子1：教授举了她妹妹的例子，她妹妹的办公室不需要额外租房间来存放文件，节省了金钱和空间。

　　要点2：无纸化办公室能节省很多时间，不用翻阅很多文件来寻找自己想要的信息。

　　例子2：如果想要寻找一份文件，无纸化办公室不用翻阅纸质文件，花很长时间来寻找，只需要在电脑里输入信息，立刻就能找到想要的信息。
