　　阅读部分1. Climate change: 温度变暖，人体变小，大脑缩小

　　参考范文The author of the reading passage offers three explanations for human brain shrinkage. From an opposite angle, the lecturer points out the reasons mentioned in the reading are not adequate to account for the shrinking of brain size.

　　The reading passage presents the fact that the shrinkage is related to the decline in human body size which is originated from warming conditions. However, the lecturer casts doubt on the viewpoint by stating that the temperature has always been up and down for several times. The brain size did not turn smaller, but grew a little larger.

　　Another factor analyzed in the article is agriculture. People ate grain in the past which contained less protein and vitamin. In contrast, the lecturer in the listening points out that the lifestyle of feeding on grain did not appear in Australia and South Africa until recently. But the decline of brain size emerges there as in the rest of the world.

　　Muscle mass, according to the written article, affects brain size. The professor refutes the statement by presenting persuasive numbers. The size of human brain declined by 10%, significantly more than the rate of muscle mass. Even if muscle mass does contribute to the shrink, it could not act as a major contributor.
