　　1.经常发生或反复发生的动作

　　He gets up at six.

　　She works eight hours a day.

　　2.现在的情况或状态

　　She knows several languages.

　　The soup tastes good.

　　3.永恒的真理

　　The sun rises in the east.

　　现在进行时

　　正在进行的动作和发生的事

　　What are you doing?

　　-I’m studying.

　　I’m waiting for you.

　　一般将来时

　　将来要发生的事

　　I will see you tomorrow.

　　一般过去时

　　过去发生的动作或存在的状态

　　How did you get this job?

　　I didn’t know her at that time.

　　过去进行时

　　过去某时的一个动作正在进行，过去时间可以由一个状语表示出来

　　I was writing a letter when she called.

　　I was busy yesterday. I was preparing for the exams.

　　现在完成时

　　1.表示一件已发生的事，这事往往和现在有联系

　　I’ve lost my key. (因此无法进屋)

　　-Have you had your supper yet?

　　-Yes, I have.(因此不饿了)

　　2.常和just、already、yet、recently、ever连用

　　The rain has already stopped.

　　Have you ever seen Tom recently?

　　3.也可和表示从过去某时到现在这段时间的状语连用

　　I haven’t seen him this week.

　　So far he has done very well at school.

　　4.常和for和since引导的状语或与how long连用

　　I haven’t seen you for ages.

　　How long have you known her?

　　5.也可单独使用

　　She has found a new job.

　　6.还可表示持续到现在的状态

　　He has lived here all his life.

　　I have known them for many years.
