　　问卷调查排名(Survey Quality)是这样得出的：研究团队首先给出20条测量标准，向教授们发出调查问卷。教授对这些测量标准的重要性直接进行给分。同一条测量标准在不同研究领域内的重要性得分可能是不同的。最后，研究团队再把问卷调查得出的20条测量标准的重要性得分作为加权系数，对各个项目来进行评分和排名。（这20条测量标准应该是客观的数据，比如发文数，研究经费等等）。

　　回归分析排名(Regres Quality)是让各个研究领域的教授对各个项目进行综合评分。在每个研究领域中取一个样本，把综合评分作为因变量，20条测量标准作为自变量做回归和主成份分析，然后得出这20条测量标准对项目最终评分的加权系数，最后把这些加权系数应用到对项目的评分中去。
