  常用动词

  促进, 提

  enhance, boost, maximize, promote

  e.g. The government adopted a range of measures to boost tourism.

  阻碍

  obstruct, impede, hinder, get in the way of

  e.g. The loss of all documentation hindered further investigation.

  为…打下基础

  set the stage for, lay foundation for, pave way for

  e.g. The industrial revolution laid foundation for economic boom in western countries.

  把 A 归因于 B

  attribute A to B, ascribe A to B, (B is attributed to A)

  e.g. Women tend to attribute their success to external causes such as luck.

  开启了

  mark the beginning of

  e.g. The advent of iPhone marks the beginning of a wholly new cellphone industry.

  掌握

  have a (good, great) command of

  e.g. He has a brilliant command of French.

  传播

  transmit, disseminate, spread

  e.g. Health authorities should foster good practice by disseminating information.

  be susceptible to (观点, 行为, 环境)

  e.g. Teenagers are susceptible to their peers’ opinions.
