　　TASK1

　　How would you like to learn about other cultures if you cannot travel there? Would you like to read books, watch films, or form a chatting group with local people?

　　去年9月出现了一道非常相似的题目，只不过更加具体，但本质上没有太大变化;另外，相信大家一定会准备看电影的素材，也可以用到这道题里。

　　Read books: 更系统化;不同专家学者的看法

　　Movies: 放松;生动;全方位

　　Talk: 不同人的想法;真实的体验和感受

　　Sample Answer:

　　Of the three options, I will definitely choose to watch movies, because it is the most relaxing way. As I student, I need to deal with tons of homework everyday and prepare for many exams. It could be tiring and exhausting. But when I watch movies, I can take a break and forget about those annoying stuff, which is pretty enjoyable. Also, to learn cultures, I think that they need to be demonstrated in a vivid way and from this perspective, of course, movies are the best. For example, when I watch Indian movies, I can see their architecture, their clothes, their food, their dance and so on. I think watching movies can bring me a better learning experience than the other two.

　　TASK2

　　Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

    I agree with it for two reasons.

　　Firstly, when assigning homework, I believe teachers have definitely considered the amount of time that needed to finish it. Take my English teacher for example, normally she just requires us to write an essay per week which is an easy job, so I don’t think any student can find a reasonable excuse to hand in after the deadline.

　　Secondly, deducting scores is way to respect policy, we know that rule is rule, nobody can make an exception. Suppose most of students handed in assignments on time or even in advance while just one student assigned it after the deadline, if he or she got a good score, anyone else would feel disappointed.

　　Task3

　　要改善学校writing center。

　　第一增加tutor的数量，因为每次去都只有两个tutor，特别时期比如final，学生会有很多paper，tutor多了学生就不用排队浪费时间等待了;第二在周末开放center，学生周末的时间表比较open，如果周末也有help session的话，学生们可以从容安排自己的计划

　　Task4

　　关于ethospecies，一种行为特征(behavioral characteristic) 。通过某些行为而不是外表来识别动物(recognize through certain behaviors rather than physical appearance)

　　e.g. 黄蜂(wasps)

　　两种黄蜂长得很像很难分辨，但是一种喜欢将巢建在central to trees和buildings，另外一类建在side。科学家们做了研究和分析通过这个确定了两类虽然长得基本一样但仍然是不同的黄蜂。

　　Task5

　　P:男生打篮球伤了腿，所以可能耽误即将到来的soccer season。

　　两个解决方案：

　　S1:去游泳，但是学校游泳池关了，虽然renovation town有一个，但是远价格也高

　　S2:先养伤再做extra exercise

　　Task6

　　教授说了两种解决collective problem的方法。

　　第一个是给大家指定rules and guidelines;

　　第二个就是把任务分配给个体。
